My fellow members,

The Christmas and festive season is well upon us and as I have referred to previously there is that air of anticipation and excitement amongst our members, and across the local community in general. This wonderful and generous spirit displayed on a regular basis, by you our loyal members, has once again come to the fore with the fabulous support given to the Christmas Giving Tree. The  ‘spirit of giving ‘ is well and truly alive in our club, and the recipients of the generous gifts, being primarily local foster kids, will no doubt realise that they are both loved and valued by our caring members. CareSouth is the charity that facilitates this event and the Country Club is honoured to once again partner them in this way. It is interesting to note that CareSouth was founded in Nowra in 1992 as ShoalCare and later changed to Caresouth. It is a local community based organization, who, amongst other things, supports foster kids, young people and families. We most certainly acknowledge that CareSouth directly strengthens the lives of those that they work with and in so doing inspire the communities in which they operate. A big ‘well done ‘ goes to CareSouth and also to our own, Sharon Buggy, for their hard work and the continuation of our very worthwhile relationship.

You know members, at this time of the year, it is often worthwhile taking time out to reflect. This moment of reflection may include our most recent record profit, it may be the improvements that have been made to our golf courses and bowling greens, many say that it is the effective and calm way that our professional security operate, it could be the great food offerings in our clubs, or about the variety and quality of the entertainment, the rejuvenation of snooker and table tennis would be worthy of mention, a future refurbishment of the main lounge and bar area has been locked in to commence in the first quarter of 2024 and so the list goes on. However, from my perspective and I know that your Board, Management and staff agree, that this period of reflection would most certainly be headed up by you, our vibrant members. This reflection would focus on the way that you actively enhance the quality of the social interaction experience in our club. That feeling of being socially connected and made to feel valued and welcome, is a real and noticeable feature of the everyday friendly experience provided by both you our regular members, and our happy and productive staff. This is what makes our club the leading club on the coast!

Finally members, from your Board of Directors, your Management Team and Staff, may I wish each and every member and your families a fabulous festive season, a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. As always, be kind to each other.
