Dear Members,

Your Board Of Directors has been working effectively with Management, and we are completely united in our manic desire to pay down debt, and pay down debt we do. We are in a very strong financial position at Country Club St Georges Basin, which is a direct result of effective management and the high level of support given to all aspects of our club by you our wonderful members. As you know there is something for everyone at the Country Club. Because of our responsible approach to club finances we now find ourselves in the exciting situation where well budgeted renovations as well as contemporary refurbishments are indeed possible. Your Board will make a decision on these possibilities in the very near future and I am optimistic that some very exciting announcements will be forthcoming. This moment in time for our club is at a very exciting stage in its rich and diverse history, and we are all working tirelessly to achieve the best outcome for our members and the community.

With the looming state election and the proposed gaming machine reform, your club once again emphasises its commitment to harm minimization and providing our members with the tools to gamble responsibly. As such, we have recently activated a cashless solution in-house and will be rolling this out as an option to our members in the coming weeks. Should you like to learn more, please contact one of our friendly staff members.

As you are well aware, your Board and  Management  engaged the services of consultancy group, Tully Heard, in order to investigate potential sustainability options for the continuation of Country Club Vincentia. This was necessitated as a result of poor trading performances prior to and since the amalgamation in 2016. Tully Heard were tasked with the responsibility of providing an independent and professionally developed long-term site development strategy aimed at securing a sustainable future for the Vincentia precinct. The report has been digested by both Management and the Board and has been acknowledged as being comprehensive, relevant, logical, educational and above all most informative. Your Board of Directors are now building upon the platform of this report to develop a strategy for The Country Club Vincentia and are excited to able to soon share this way forward with our members.

Whilst I have previously announced that an information session would be convened in the first quarter of 2023, this will not occur as there still exists a small number of ‘ commercial in confidence ‘ matters that need to be resolved. The sensitivity of such items must be given the highest degree of respect and goes to the heart of maintaining absolute professionalism. It is to this end that we are directing our energy, and hopefully the open and transparent information meeting will be held in the second quarter or soon after.

Development opportunities for our Paradise Beach Road land continue to be pursued by our consultancy and architecture firms, with the feasibility report not being too far away. Hopefully we can progress the project to the development application stage in the near future, which is yet another step along the path to sustainability. Imagine the site being comprised of modern high quality residential units leading up to a first rate accommodation complex. All residents could potentially enter our club via key-card access and enjoy the fabulous facilities of a modern well-appointed club made up of warm and friendly members. It doesn’t get much better than this.
